Nine others named to CS360 Primetime Performers Honor Roll, for week of Sept. 3-9.

BYU freshman forward Michele Murphy (Sandy, Utah) has received the top honor among the week-4 edition of the CS360 Primetime Performers of the Week for Division I women's soccer, as selected by CollegeSoccer360.com (10 total honorees, listed below). Murphy is the CS360 Primetime Player of the Week for Sept. 3-9 and is joined by nine others on the Primetime Performer Weekly Honor Roll for the fourth week of the 2012 season.

Murphy and her teammates completed what could prove to be a season-defining week, after shockingly running away from Texas (5-0) before besting cs360 #6 Penn State (3-1). The Cougars were playing in front of a spirited home crowd of 5,000-plus and could have crumpled under that pressure, instead surging past Penn State for the huge win. Murphy - who owns a team-best nine points (4G-1A) through seven games this season – scored twice in a four-minute span to quickly extend the 1-0 battle vs. Texas to a 3-0 cushion (she added an assist a few minutes later). Two days later, with BYU holding a tenuous 2-1 lead vs. PSU early in the second half, the talented newcomer scored on a header (assisted by Carlee Payne Holmoe) at 57' for the final 3-1 margin.

... Selection for the Division I women's CS360 weekly awards is based on any/all of the following "primetime" criteria (i.e. not solely based on raw stats):

• Performed at a high level in a game that is key to the team's postseason achievements, typically in a game involving a top-50 team from the CS360 Composite National Rankings (or in a game involving a conference favorite from a league not represented in the CS360 top-50).

• In general, preference is given based on the quality of the opponent, contribution to team success and other situational factors involved in the player's accomplishments.

• Exhibited strong leadership and/or involved in clutch performances, such as gamewinning goals, noteworthy comebacks, late scores, momentum-shifting play, all-around performance, team spirit, etc.

• Overcame adversity or extreme circumstances (for the team and/or individual).

• Bonus consideration is given for key performances away from team's home field and/or against a traditional rival.

The 10 week-4 honorees include a fifth-year senior, five traditional seniors, a pair of juniors, a sophomore and a freshman. They hail from eight different home states, led by three from Texas and one each from Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Utah.

Listing of the 10 honorees follows below – as do player info. capsules (with action photos) at bottom of page (headshots in right sidebar).
